In Spite of Freud is a duet performance act created in collaboration with a Dutch actress Jacqueline van de Geer as a direct protest against the increasing control over women’s bodies and reproductive rights. Responding to the rising wave of anti-abortion laws and social policing, the piece confronts the urgent need for solidarity among women across generations.
Taking aim at Freud’s deeply rooted notion that women cannot form deep friendships with one another, the work rejects this myth and instead affirms that connection, care, and collective resistance are essential tools of survival. Through physical presence, shared action, and embodied protest, the performers explore the radical power of standing together.
In Spite of Freud is both a resistance and a call—to remember that no woman can be spared, and that together we are stronger, louder, and impossible to silence.
